WELCOME

The AIRCH Student Development component is a collaboration between the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA) and The University of Arizona (UA) to provide American Indian/Alaska Native students academic support and career development/mentoring activities to encourage more AIAN students to participate in research and/or to pursue research careers.

American Indians and Alaska Natives are underrepresented in research and science careers. More American Indian and Alaska Native researchers are needed. More research on Indian health issues is needed to help address the significant health disparities that impact the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives.

UPCOMING AIRCH EVENTS

  • Attention current University of Arizona AI/AN students:

The ITCA/UA AIRCH Program has limited travel funding available to support UA American Indian / Alaska Native students who apply and are accepted for the AAIP Research Poster Competition.

In order to be considered for travel funding, please submit your application/abstract to AAIP by Thursday May 1, 2008. This deadline is earlier than the deadline posted on the AAIP website. Yes, that means you have an earlier deadline!

Information regarding where to send your abstract and application for the AAIP Poster Competition can be downloaded here. PDF
You may also want to submit an application for the INMED Program’s AAIP Conference Travel Support in case you don’t get accepted for the poster competition and still want to travel to AAIP. PDF

For questions, please email Andrew Stuck.
